Basil - Dogs 4 Rescue

Basil

More about Basil

Beautiful Basil is such a fantastic character who has really blossomed during his time with us.
He came to us a frightened soul desperate to trust but we can now see the fun, affectionate and sweet boy he really is.

Basil was very nervous when he arrived but has gained so much confidence and now forms really strong bonds with people.
As soon as Basil knows and trusts you he is very affectionate and always first in line to say hello!

He is a steady, gentle boy who loves affection and cuddles.

Basil loves other dogs and will need to live with at least one other dog in the home as he gains confidence from his doggy friends and they help him to feel safe. He just LOVES to play and is looking for a canine companion to join him in his favourite game of bitey face.

Basil can find the outside world overwhelming and so he will need further training to help him adjust to walks. He is doing really with with his training and we are confident that with consistency he will make leaps of progress!

He can be nervous of strangers so will require slow introductions and care will need to be taken with visitors to the home so an experienced owner would be preferred.

Adoption fee: £250

About our dogs

Our dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, flea & wormed and have full travel documents where appropriate. If they are arriving from overseas they will have had all the pre-travel tests as required by DEFRA and are transported through the TRACES system.

We pride ourselves on being honest and open about our dogs, sharing all we know about them including any known behaviour challenges or medical conditions.

Like all responsible rescues we offer Lifetime Rescue Back Up to all the dogs who come through our doors.

One month trial

We want our dogs to be happy in their homes for life, which is why we offer a full one month trial. As they start to relax and their personalities shine through you’ll know if your home life suits and how they get along with any other pets.

If it’s not the right fit, they can come back to rescue and get straight back to playing, and we will try to find you a more suitable match. There aren’t enough homes out there so please don’t give up if your first dog doesn’t work out.
