Sasha

More about Sasha

Sasha is as cute as a button with a personality to match. She’s a happy-go-lucky girl who absolutely loves people and will often “smile” at you when she’s excited—it’s one of her most endearing little quirks and guaranteed to brighten your day.

Sasha recently spent some time in a foster home, where she had shown herself to be a clever, affectionate, and energetic little dog who learns quickly and forms strong bonds with her people. However, she is also a dog who can become easily over-aroused and overstimulated, and she is looking for an experienced, committed home that can continue working with her training and behaviour.

One of Sasha’s main challenges is her tendency to use her mouth when excited, frustrated, or seeking attention. This can range from mouthing and nipping to grabbing clothing and lead biting, and she has been known to become quite intense when overstimulated. She can also be wary of unfamiliar people entering her space and may bark, lunge, or attempt to nip when she feels uncomfortable. For this reason, Sasha is looking for an adult-only home or one with sensible older teenagers aged 16+, and adopters who are confident in managing and continuing positive training around these behaviours.

Despite these challenges, Sasha is making progress. She has shown potential to build trust with new people and has shown improvement with repeated introductions. She is also responding well to training and is beginning to make better choices when encountering triggers out on walks.

Sasha can be reactive on lead towards some dogs and people, particularly if they approach or interact with her person, but she is improving and is increasingly able to disengage and focus on her handler. She will need adopters who understand reactive dogs and are willing to continue helping her build confidence through positive reinforcement and careful management.

Sasha adores other dogs and would thrive with a playful, well-matched canine companion, although she could also live happily as the only dog in the home with plenty of attention and enrichment. She has also shown potential to live with cats following appropriate introductions.

She is a high-energy girl who will need an active home committed to meeting her exercise, enrichment, and training needs. A secure garden would be ideal, giving her a safe space to enjoy outdoor time and burn off some energy.

Sasha is not a dog for first-time owners, but for the right person, she has so much potential. She is bright, affectionate, funny, and incredibly rewarding. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Sasha will make a loyal and loving companion for someone willing to help her continue her journey.

Adoption fee: £250

About our dogs

Our dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, flea & wormed and have full travel documents where appropriate. If they are arriving from overseas they will have had all the pre-travel tests as required by DEFRA and are transported through the TRACES system.

We pride ourselves on being honest and open about our dogs, sharing all we know about them including any known behaviour challenges or medical conditions.

Like all responsible rescues we offer Lifetime Rescue Back Up to all the dogs who come through our doors.

One month trial

We want our dogs to be happy in their homes for life, which is why we offer a full one month trial. As they start to relax and their personalities shine through you’ll know if your home life suits and how they get along with any other pets.

If it’s not the right fit, they can come back to rescue and get straight back to playing, and we will try to find you a more suitable match. There aren’t enough homes out there so please don’t give up if your first dog doesn’t work out.
