Roxy is a young, vibrant girl with a fun-loving spirit and a cheeky personality that’s guaranteed to make you smile. She approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity and is always keen to be involved with her people, forming strong bonds with those she trusts.
In the home, Roxy is a delight. She is fully toilet trained, settles well indoors, and enjoys a calm, predictable environment. She could live happily in a flat or apartment, provided her walks can be managed to minimise regular close encounters with other dogs. Mental enrichment and routine are important for her, as she’s a bright dog who benefits from having her mind kept busy.
Roxy has had a difficult start in life and missed out on some of the early socialisation experiences puppies would normally have. As a result, she can struggle when she sees other dogs on walks, becoming overwhelmed and unsure how to respond. To help her feel safe and supported, Roxy wears a muzzle when out and about. She is comfortable wearing it, and it allows her handler to manage situations calmly while continuing her training and confidence-building work.
Roxy has successfully lived with another dog in the past, which shows she does have the ability to develop relationships with other dogs. However, at this stage, she needs to be the only pet in the home while she continues to build her confidence and develop better coping skills around other dogs.
Because of this, Roxy is looking for a home with an experienced and confident owner who understands frustration-based reactivity and is committed to using positive reinforcement to help her progress. With the right guidance and environment, she has so much potential to continue improving.
Roxy hasn’t been tested with cats, and while she has lived with children before, her bouncy and energetic nature means she would be best suited to a home with older, sensible children.
She would thrive in a home where someone is around for most of the day to offer structure, companionship, and reassurance. Roxy is a loving, engaging dog who, in the right environment, will make a deeply rewarding companion and flourish into the confident girl she’s capable of being.
