Rosa is a beautiful, timid girl with a sweet and gentle nature. Life hasn’t always been easy for her, but she’s showing incredible courage as she learns that kind hands and soft voices bring comfort, not fear. She’s currently in rehabilitation and making steady progress — each day she grows a little braver and more curious about the world around her.
Rosa is still learning how to walk confidently on a lead, and she’s doing wonderfully with patient, positive guidance. Because of her shy nature, she’ll need an experienced and understanding adopter — someone who knows how to work with nervous dogs and can give her the time, space, and reassurance she needs to settle.
She finds great comfort in the company of other dogs, so she’ll need at least one calm, confident canine companion in her new home to help her feel safe and show her the ropes. Having another dog nearby really helps her relax and build trust. Rosa hasn’t yet been cat tested.
Rosa has displayed fear based reactivity towards strangers and this is something that may occur in a home setting, particularly towards unknown visitors. A quiet home would suit her best for this reason and our team of behaviourists will be on board to help guide you with ways to manage this.
She’s very food-motivated, which will be a big help in her continued training and bonding. She’s starting to enjoy gentle affection from people she knows, and it’s been lovely to see her tail begin to wag more often.
We’d consider placing Rosa in a foster home soon to help her transition gradually into a home environment. This will give her the chance to experience the comfort of a family setting while continuing her confidence-building journey. A secure garden is essential.
Rosa may be shy at first, but with patience and love, she has all the potential to flourish into a loyal, affectionate companion. Watching her grow will be an incredibly rewarding experience.
