Rico is a shy, sensitive boy who takes time to build trust.
The good news is that Rico is ruled by his tummy and absolutely loves food which is a great tool for building a bond with him.
Rico is not yet ready to walk on lead but our team our working hard with this. He appears to have some past trauma of being restrained so this needs to be done slowly but Rico has shown great potential as he is a clever boy who picks things up quickly.
Rico mixes well with other dogs and we would like to find him a home with at least one confident dog to help show him the ropes! He is yet to be cat tested.
We are looking for an experienced foster/trial for Rico with someone who can continue his rehabilitation.
He will need a secure garden until he’s ready to brave the outside world. A quiet home with older, sensible children aged 16+ would suit him best.
Helping a dog like Rico will take patience but it will be an extremely rewarding experience.
