Pinot - Dogs 4 Rescue

Pinot

More about Pinot

Pinot is a sweet, gentle boy who has already made an incredible transformation since arriving with us. When he first came into our care, he was a frightened little dog, deeply unsure of people and scared of being touched โ€” especially around his neck. We later learned he had experienced trauma in that area, which made him fearful and defensive, anticipating he would be hurt.

But now that Pinot knows heโ€™s safe and loved, the change in him has been nothing short of amazing. The Pinot we see today is curious, inquisitive, and full of life. He greets the team with a wagging tail and a bright, happy smile, and heโ€™s beginning to enjoy gentle strokes and seek out affection from people he trusts. Watching him grow in confidence has been truly heartwarming.

Because of his past, Pinot is still sensitive about touch around his neck and isnโ€™t yet ready to wear a collar or walk on a lead. However, rehabilitation work has already begun to help him slowly accept a harness at his own pace.

Pinot was also born with a forelimb deformity, which slightly limits his mobility, but it doesnโ€™t cause him any pain or hold him back from enjoying life. At present, there are no plans for surgery, although this can be reviewed in the future if needed.

He gets along well with other dogs, though heโ€™s quite independent and could happily live as an only dog too. He’s also shown great potential to live with cats.

Pinot will need a calm, patient, and experienced home โ€” someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him progress gently, on his own terms. A secure garden is essential while heโ€™s unable to walk on a lead, as it will allow him the freedom to explore safely and continue his journey of healing and confidence-building.

Pinot has already overcome so much, and heโ€™s blossoming into the happy, trusting dog he was always meant to be. With love, patience, and understanding, heโ€™ll make the most rewarding little companion.

About our dogs

Our dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, flea & wormed and have full travel documents where appropriate. If they are arriving from overseas they will have had all the pre-travel tests as required by DEFRA and are transported through the TRACES system.ย

We pride ourselves on being honest and open about our dogs, sharing all we know about them including any known behaviour challenges or medical conditions.ย

Like all responsible rescues we offer Lifetime Rescue Back Up to all the dogs who come through our doors.ย

One month trial

We want our dogs to be happy in their homes for life, which is why we offer a full one month trial. As they start to relax and their personalities shine through youโ€™ll know if your home life suits and how they get along with any other pets.ย

If itโ€™s not the right fit, they can come back to rescue and get straight back to playing, and we will try to find you a more suitable match. There arenโ€™t enough homes out there so please donโ€™t give up if your first dog doesnโ€™t work out.ย
