Pinot is a sweet, gentle boy who has already made an incredible transformation since arriving with us. When he first came into our care, he was a frightened little dog, deeply unsure of people and scared of being touched โ especially around his neck. We later learned he had experienced trauma in that area, which made him fearful and defensive, anticipating he would be hurt.
But now that Pinot knows heโs safe and loved, the change in him has been nothing short of amazing. The Pinot we see today is curious, inquisitive, and full of life. He greets the team with a wagging tail and a bright, happy smile, and heโs beginning to enjoy gentle strokes and seek out affection from people he trusts. Watching him grow in confidence has been truly heartwarming.
Because of his past, Pinot is still sensitive about touch around his neck and isnโt yet ready to wear a collar or walk on a lead. However, rehabilitation work has already begun to help him slowly accept a harness at his own pace.
Pinot was also born with a forelimb deformity, which slightly limits his mobility, but it doesnโt cause him any pain or hold him back from enjoying life. At present, there are no plans for surgery, although this can be reviewed in the future if needed.
He gets along well with other dogs, though heโs quite independent and could happily live as an only dog too. He’s also shown great potential to live with cats.
Pinot will need a calm, patient, and experienced home โ someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him progress gently, on his own terms. A secure garden is essential while heโs unable to walk on a lead, as it will allow him the freedom to explore safely and continue his journey of healing and confidence-building.
Pinot has already overcome so much, and heโs blossoming into the happy, trusting dog he was always meant to be. With love, patience, and understanding, heโll make the most rewarding little companion.
