Ozzy is a big bundle of personality with a heart to match. He’s goofy and playful with a serious love for toys and anything involving water!
Behind all that fun is a sensitive boy who can find new people difficult. Ozzy needs careful introductions and someone who understands fear based reactivity. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your best friend for life. A loving, devoted companion who forms incredibly strong bonds with his people.
Ozzy is muzzle trained and does best when life is predictable, with a consistent routine and clear boundaries. When people give him space on walks, he copes much better, but if he feels someone is approaching him, he will react to let them know he’s uncomfortable. After spending many years in rescue, he needs someone who can gently help him rediscover the world outside and build his confidence again.
Ozzy is very food motivated, which makes working with him a real joy! He’s obedient and eager to please, happily working hard for his favourite treats. With the right guidance, he has so much potential to continue learning and become the best version of himself.
Ozzy is a high energy dog so he is looking for an active home — adventure days, enrichment, training and plenty of opportunities to keep his clever brain and busy body occupied. He will need support with impulse control and learning appropriate ways to channel his excitement, particularly around toys and household items, but he responds well to boundaries and supervision. It doesn’t take long for him to settle if he has had healthy outlets for excess energy. When his needs are met he becomes the softest, sweetest boy who just wants to cuddle.
Ozzy enjoys the company of other dogs and could happily share his home with a well-balanced canine companion who can provide positive guidance and be a good role model for him. Ozzy is unable to live with cats.
We’re looking for an experienced, adult-only home in a quiet environment with minimal visitors. His new family will need to be committed to putting time into him and helping him navigate the things he finds difficult. He is crate trained, which makes managing situations such as necessary visitors much easier.
Ozzy has so much love, personality and potential packed into one gorgeous boy. He has spent far too long waiting for somebody to see past his worries and believe in him. He needs the right person to see him for his heart and give him that chance to show you the deeply loyal companion he can be.
