Lucy - Dogs 4 Rescue

Lucy

More about Lucy

Lovely Lucy is a beautiful, sensitive girl full of love, just waiting for her chance to bloom in the right home. She’s shy by nature and can be nervous around new people and situations – especially men – so she’s looking for a calm and understanding female owner who can offer her the gentle, patient environment she needs to truly flourish.

Once Lucy trusts you, she’s incredibly affectionate and loyal – the kind of dog who will quietly lean into you for comfort and look to you for reassurance. She absolutely loves cuddles on the sofa and will happily snuggle up for a snooze next to her person. Her gentle spirit is truly special.

Lucy adores other dogs and gains confidence from their company. However, she has shown some jealousy around female dogs, so she would be best suited to living with a confident male companion who can help her feel safe. She cannot live with cats.

Lucy can be strong on the lead at times, particularly when feeling anxious, so she will need someone committed to continuing her training and helping her build confidence in the outside world.

Adoption fee: £250

About our dogs

Our dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, flea & wormed and have full travel documents where appropriate. If they are arriving from overseas they will have had all the pre-travel tests as required by DEFRA and are transported through the TRACES system.

We pride ourselves on being honest and open about our dogs, sharing all we know about them including any known behaviour challenges or medical conditions.

Like all responsible rescues we offer Lifetime Rescue Back Up to all the dogs who come through our doors.

One month trial

We want our dogs to be happy in their homes for life, which is why we offer a full one month trial. As they start to relax and their personalities shine through you’ll know if your home life suits and how they get along with any other pets.

If it’s not the right fit, they can come back to rescue and get straight back to playing, and we will try to find you a more suitable match. There aren’t enough homes out there so please don’t give up if your first dog doesn’t work out.
