Kancho is an absolute heart-melter — a gentle, affectionate boy who adores attention and isn’t shy about showing it. He loves cuddles, ear rubs, and belly rubs, and when he’s asleep on the bed, he’s so still you wouldn’t even know he’s there… unless he leans into your back for a snuggle. His playful, giddy nature is infectious, and he thrives on interaction with people and other dogs.
Kancho has settled very well in his foster home. He adapted quickly to routines and is generally clean indoors, though he does need further support with toilet training; he is learning every day. He is confident around other dogs and has passed his cat test so could live with a confident cat following careful introductions.
As a young, active boy, he would benefit from a home where someone is around for most of the day to provide stimulation and companionship. Kancho enjoys walks, loves exploring and is a very quick learner. He is highly food-motivated, which makes training enjoyable, he gets very excited around meals, performing a little reversing happy dance.
He also loves toys, especially ones with hidden treats — though even the “indestructible” ones tend to “explode”!
He is still learning about life in a home and can be reactive to both dogs and people while out on walks. This usually consists of barking and is manageable with a confident, experienced owner to guide his socialisation. Due to past experiences, Kancho can also be wary of men initially, but with patience and gentle reassurance, he builds trusting relationships.
Kancho would be happiest in a home with at least one other friendly dog and ideally with children aged 16+ due to his excitable nature and sensitivity to strangers. He thrives on activity, mental stimulation, and training, and he particularly enjoys learning new things — he is currently being taught to ring a bell to let his foster parent know when he wants to go out, and he’s taking it all in his stride.
Kancho is affectionate, playful, and intelligent — a loving boy who deserves a patient and understanding home where he can continue to grow, learn, and show off his heart-melting personality.
