Gorgeous Goran is a very sweet boy who bonds deeply. It doesn’t take long to become friends with him, and once he knows you, you’ll have a loyal companion for life. He is incredibly affectionate, loves cuddles and belly rubs, and is full of love to share.
Goran is a sensitive soul and can be a complex boy when it comes to other dogs and strangers. He can be reactive on the lead and needs a confident, experienced owner who can gently build his confidence. He would thrive in a quiet home with one or two adults, and either no visitors or a way to keep him separate when visitors come.
Goran is comfortable being left alone for reasonable periods, is clean in the home, and knows to play only with his toys.
Goran can be sensitive and reactive to certain noises and environmental stimuli, so he would be best suited to a quieter home environment where he is not regularly exposed to high levels of activity or foot traffic.
Due to his reactivity towards unfamiliar people and the challenges presented by shared access areas, Goran is not considered suitable for most flat or apartment living situations, particularly those with communal entrances, corridors, stairwells, or frequent close contact with neighbours and visitors.
An ideal home for Goran would be a house with a secure private garden, allowing him direct access to outdoor space without the need to navigate busy communal areas. The only exception may be a self-contained ground-floor property with its own private entrance and garden, where exposure to strangers and shared spaces can be kept to a minimum.
Providing Goran with a calm, predictable environment will help him continue to build confidence and manage his reactions to external triggers more successfully.
Although Goran has been assessed as cat-friendly and is capable of living alongside cats, he does prefer having his own space. At times, he may display some resource or space-guarding behaviours around preferred resting areas and may chase cats away if they enter those spaces.
For this reason, clear boundaries and appropriate management will need to be established within the home to ensure all animals feel comfortable and secure. Providing separate resting areas, safe spaces for the cats, and supervising interactions during the settling-in period will help promote a harmonious environment.
Goran would not be suitable to live with particularly nervous, timid, or flighty cats, as his behaviour could be unsettling for cats that lack confidence. He would be best matched with confident, dog-savvy cats that are comfortable sharing their home with a dog and are unlikely to be adversely affected by occasional boundary-setting behaviours. He cannot live with other dogs.
Goran is extremely loyal once he bonds and will make a loving, devoted companion for the right home.
