Felix is a very sweet boy with a gentle nature, looking for a patient, loving home where he can begin to build his confidence and discover just how wonderful life can be. He has had a difficult start in life and, having only ever known life alongside his mum, Shakira, has become very dependent on her for reassurance and security. While their close bond is understandable, this level of dependence isn’t healthy for either of them in the long term, so we are looking for separate homes where they can each learn to thrive independently.
Finding the right canine companion will be especially important for Felix. He would benefit greatly from living with another friendly, confident dog who can help him feel safe and offer reassurance as he adjusts to his new life. Ideally, we would love to find him a home with a calm, gentle dog whose company he can take comfort in. Having a canine companion by his side will make all the difference in helping Felix build his confidence as he learns to navigate the world around him.
Felix can be timid and nervous, particularly in unfamiliar situations, and loud bangs or sudden movements may cause him to cower. He will need understanding adopters who won’t expect too much of him too soon and are happy to let him progress at his own pace. With kindness, consistency and plenty of positive experiences, his lovely personality will start to unfold. He already walks well on a lead, giving him a wonderful starting point for enjoying gentle walks and gradually building his trust in the world around him.
As Felix relies heavily on companionship and reassurance, he may find being left alone difficult, particularly while settling into a new home. We would therefore recommend a home where someone is around for most, if not all, of the day, at least initially, helping him feel safe and preventing him from becoming overwhelmed. He will need patience, understanding and a gentle approach as he learns that he is safe when his familiar surroundings and the people he knows change.
Felix has a real desire to trust and form meaningful bonds. Once he feels safe his sweet and affectionate nature begins to shine through. He doesn’t need a busy or adventurous lifestyle, just a peaceful, loving home where he can feel secure with a family who will cherish him for the wonderful boy he is.
