Errol is nothing short of extraordinary. Behind his big, beaming smile lies a story of survival, courage, and remarkable resilience. This special boy has endured the most unimaginable crueltyโarriving to us with four broken legs. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our veterinary team, heโs undergone multiple surgeries to rebuild his body and his future. Sadly, one leg couldnโt be saved, but Errol has adapted beautifully to life as a tri-paw.
Now, Errol is bursting with energy, joy, and light. He doesnโt dwell on his pastโheโs too busy playing with his toys, enjoying cuddles, and lighting up every room with his sunny personality. Heโs the kind of dog who reminds you of the power of forgiveness and the strength of spirit.
Errol mixes well with other dogs on walks, but heโd really thrive as the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. Heโs not a fan of cats or small furries, so a pet-free home is best.
This boy loves human company and would prefer a home where someone is around most of the day. He is house-trained, non-destructive, and doesnโt ask for muchโjust kindness, companionship, and a quiet space where he can feel safe.
Due to everything heโs been through, a calm, adult-only home would suit him best. He deserves peace, predictability, and people who understand how special he is.
Errol is a loving boy, but his needs mean that he is unfortunately not suitable for life in a flat or apartment. He can be territorial about his home environment and may become defensive when he sees unfamiliar people near what he perceives as his space. In a block of flats, where he would frequently encounter neighbours in shared hallways, entrances and lifts, this could easily trigger reactive behaviour. Passing people regularly in corridors or sharing lifts would be overwhelming for him.
Noise sensitivity is another difficulty for Errol. He reacts when he hears neighbours talking or making everyday sounds, barking for long periods before he is able to settle again. In a flat, where noise comes from multiple directions and in much closer proximity, he would likely experience constant stress.
Errolโs mobility issues would make the practicalities of flat living extremely difficult. He can only manage very short distancesโaround 30 metresโbefore his leg becomes painful, at which point he lies down and refuses to move. This means that simply getting from a flat, along a corridor, and out of the building could exhaust his mobility limit. He relies on a large, heavy stroller, which may not fit comfortably through communal areas or lifts, and would need to be used for every outing. Even something as simple as taking him out for a quick toilet break would become a lengthy and stressful process, especially without direct access to a garden.
For these reasons, Errol will be happiest and most secure in a quiet house or ideally a bungalow, with someone home for most of the day, very few visitors, and easy, immediate access to a safe outdoor space. This environment will allow him to feel settled, avoid the stimuli that frighten him, and accommodate his limited mobility.
Errol is a shining example of resilience and hope. He has survived the darkest of days and come out the other side with his tail wagging and his heart still open. Now, heโs ready to start a new chapterโwith people who will cherish him the way heโs always deserved.
