Duke is a nervous but charming boy who has made huge progress since arriving with us. He is now spending time in a foster home, where he is learning what it’s like to live in a home environment and continuing to build his confidence.
Duke is shy and can take some time to build trust, but once he bonds with you, he is a loyal and loving companion. One of his favourite things is asking for a bum scratch, which always makes him wag with delight.
He is not yet fully comfortable being handled and is still learning to walk confidently on the lead. Duke can be nervous in new situations and may panic, so he will need an experienced owner who can provide patience, consistency, and ongoing support.
Duke loves the company of other dogs and would benefit from living with at least one confident canine companion. He also shows potential to live with cats.
As he continues to settle, Duke does still have occasional toilet accidents. He would thrive in a home with a secure garden where he can safely explore and play.
Duke could live with sensible, older children aged 16+, and would do best in a home that understands and supports a nervous dog.
Duke is a lovely little character who has already come so far — with the right support, he has so much more to give.
