Cookie is a loving, affectionate girl who is a real people-focused dog. Her favourite place is close to her humans, ideally cuddled up on the sofa.
Cookie absolutely loves people. She has had visitors to the home and greets them warmly, though she can become over-excited and jump up. She does know basic commands such as sit, down and paw, and she responds well, but you need to be consistent as she struggles to contain her enthusiasm. She does not bark at noises in the home and is generally very quiet.
She does find being left alone difficult, she can become unsettled and begin to howl. She does not destroy items; she simply misses her people. She would benefit from a home where someone is around for much of the time, or where any alone time can be built up gradually and supported appropriately.
Cookie walks nicely on the lead overall, with some pulling if she wants to greet another dog or person. She likes to say hello to other dogs and will usually have a sniff and move on, though she will engage in play if the other dog is playful. She has done very well in her assessments with us and enjoys playing with dogs off lead, though selective reactivity towards other dogs has been reported during high moments of stress. She would be best suited as the only dog in the home, she has not yet been cat tested.
Cookie would suit a home with bull breed experience where she can have plenty of companionship, ongoing positive training and clear, consistent boundaries. She is affectionate, playful, clever and eager to bond deeply with her people.
