Bluebell is a beautiful, bright and energetic young girl who has been making steady progress in foster care and is now ready to find her forever family. She has settled well into home life and thrives with a consistent routine. She enjoys having a cosy crate to retreat to when she wants some quiet time, otherwise she is found sprawled out on the sofa. A typical bull breed, she loves her home comforts.
Bluebell is an intelligent girl who responds well to structure, patience and consistency. She is learning to focus on her handler and her lead walking has improved considerably. Some walks are fantastic, with Bluebell walking calmly on a loose lead and taking the world in her stride. She has even enjoyed trips into busy areas, travelling on trains and visiting dog-friendly cafés, where she has shown that she can settle beautifully in the right circumstances.
Bluebell currently lives with another dog in her foster home, she is a very playful girl who loves having a doggy friend around for companionship and lots of bitey-face play! We feel she could benefit from living with a confident, friendly and sociable dog who can help show her the ropes and provide a positive influence. Equally she could live as an only dog providing that she won’t be left alone for long periods.
Being a big, active girl, Bluebell will need a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation and plenty of opportunities to explore. She enjoys her walks and benefits from having a balance of activity, rest and downtime. She is still learning how to manage her excitement when she sees other dogs out and about. She can become frustrated, barking and lunging when she wants to approach them. Her reactions have started to improve with consistent handling, and she is beginning to make better choices, but this is something her new family will need to be committed to continuing to work on.
Bluebell can be wary of unfamiliar people and may bark or become unsettled if someone approaches her unexpectedly, and she isn’t always comfortable with people reaching out to stroke her. She will need thoughtful introductions, space to feel comfortable and a family who understands the importance of allowing her to approach people in her own time.
Bluebell is reactive to cats and will need a cat-free home with secure boundaries to prevent her chasing them. She will need a secure garden with sturdy fencing, high enough to keep her safe.
We are looking for an experienced, active home for Bluebell, ideally with a good understanding of adolescent bull breeds and the patience to help a young dog navigate the world. A calm, structured routine with clear boundaries, consistency and plenty of positive reinforcement will be key to helping her continue progressing. She has so much potential, and with the right guidance and understanding, we believe she can continue to flourish into a wonderful companion. You will be rewarded with lots of snuggles!
