Marvellous Mia is a sweet and spirited girl with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. Once she knows you, she is incredibly affectionate and loyal, quickly forming strong bonds and showing her cuddly, people-focused nature. However, she can be nervous around unfamiliar people at first and needs a gentle, patient approach to help her build trust. With kindness, reassurance, and time, she truly blossoms into a devoted companion whose enthusiasm for life is infectious.
Mia is generally friendly and outgoing in the right environment, but she also has a sensitive side and can become worried in new or overwhelming situations. She will need a calm, supportive home that can provide structure, routine, and gentle guidance to help her feel secure and confident as she settles.
She has shown some frustration-based reactivity towards other dogs whilst on lead, and at this stage she will need to be the only pet in the home, allowing her the space to fully relax, settle, and thrive. In a controlled and supportive environment where she feels safe, she has demonstrated real potential to build positive associations and make dog friends at the rescue.
Due to her reactivity towards other dogs on walks, Mia can become hyper-vigilant and easily overwhelmed by her surroundings. For this reason, she would benefit from access to a secure private garden where she can enjoy outdoor time without being regularly exposed to triggers. She would not be suitable for flat living, particularly where there are frequent noise disturbances or the need to navigate shared communal areas.
Mia has also displayed some resource guarding behaviours, so she will need an experienced home that is confident and comfortable managing this, and committed to continuing her training using positive, supportive methods. We are also happy to consider foster homes for Mia while she waits for her perfect match.
This lovable girl is active, affectionate, and adores being close to her people. Whether itโs heading out on an adventure or curling up for snuggles, Mia simply wants to be by your side. She travels well in the car, is okay to be left alone for several hours and has shown great potential during previous foster placements.
She is looking for a committed home that can offer gentle ongoing training, continued confidence building, and plenty of companionship. If you are in a position to give one of the underdogs a chance, please consider Mia.
