Poor Suki has been damaged by her past and is understandably distrustful of strangers. Rescued from living tied up in a stairwell in a block of flats, she was having to defend herself from unthinkable abuse.
When she came to us she was so grateful to be rescued from her ordeal that she placed her trust in us and we were able to see her sweet, loving nature.
Suki quickly found a foster home but began to display guarding behaviour and was subsequently returned to our care as a result.
Adjusting to a home was such a big step for Suki and we believe she became overwhelmed as she did not feel safe.
We know Suki can make the right decisions with the right guidance and so we are desperately searching for a special person to understand her.
She has come on in leaps and bounds since she arrived with us and once she loves you she will give you all of her heart.
Suki is good with other dogs but would like to be the only dog in the home, she cannot live with cats.
She requires an experienced, adult only home, with someone who is familiar with fear reactivity in dogs. A quiet environment without many visitors would suit her best.
Suki also needs ongoing training to help her understand that people are no longer a threat to her.
This gorgeous girl has so many good qualities; she is very cuddly and loving when she knows and trusts you. Suki is extremely loyal, clean, non-destructive, clever, funny and playful.
She is also a sensitive, vulnerable girl who is scared of fireworks. Suki is the biggest sweetheart who just needs someone willing to spend time getting to know her.
Short/long term foster homes will also be considered for Suki.
