Our gorgeous boy Nelson has been going to Daycare 4 Dogs since he was 13 weeks old and he’s now almost 3. We never had any of the common issues people often expect with a puppy such as chewed up furniture or upset caused by being left alone – this was all down to the fact that he was cared for, stimulated and loved by the Daycare team whilst we had to go out to work.
Knowing that Nelson was having a fantastic time and receiving the best possible care at Daycare led us to think about taking a rescue dog on from a local centre. I discussed this at length with Emma who was so very supportive of the idea and talked through how she could help a rescue dog settle into Daycare.
We fell in love with a young Dobermann, Nahla – our rescue princess who joined us just over a year ago. She’d had a pretty rough ride in her previous home and this had caused a lot of anxiety and fear related behaviour issues. Coupled with this she is also VERY hyperactive!
Emma and the team at Daycare have worked tirelessly with Nahla to build her confidence with people, dogs and new situations. None of this was easy and took a lot of hard work, but through trying lots of different techniques Nahla settled, relaxed and bonded with the team. She absolutely LOVES Daycare and adores her extended family who provide her with love and care day in, day out.
I cannot express in words how much I appreciated what Emma, Lou and the team have done to ensure that our dogs are happy, well socialised and loved to bits. Without their patience, knowledge and expertise we wouldn’t have felt able to take on a rescue dog with a few quirks who needed a lot of TLC 🙂
Dogs 4 Rescue wasn’t set up when we took on our rescue pupster – if it had have been I wouldn’t have looked anywhere else for the right companion. I can hand on heart say that it would be a tough search to find a breeder or rehoming centre that will offer the same level of support and guidance as you’ll get from Emma.
