We know Emma & Anthony who run Street Hearts BG after helping by taking some of their rescue doggies over the years. Famous ones like Tarka and others have been rescued from horrific ordeals by these guys. It has been a pleasure dealing with them and they have become really helpful friends for many things. We have met Emma briefly once before but this time we get to meet and spend some time together as they are coming for the weekend.
In their first solo trip bringing rescue dogs to new homes they are doing the mammoth journey from Bulgaria to us and then dropping dogs off in their new homes around the UK. They are not only saving these dogs, doing all the vet care and living with them but they’ve worked so hard for many many months to get the transporter license, traces license and all other hoops they’ve had to jump through just to be able to do the trip. It’s been no easy task and not at all for the faint hearted. We admire them for their bravery and are inspired by their determination when things seemed just too hard.
We are so proud to work closely with these guys who do absolutely everything for these dogs from the moment they save them. Just like Andrea these are contacts that are like gold dust. Genuine, honest, trustworthy people who are in it for the right reasons and nothing more. That’s what we want to work with. We look forward to welcoming them and the 16 doggie pals on Friday. We wish them a safe journey, knowing they will be nervous with it being their first and I can’t imagine having to try and sleep in the van but they’ve achieved such great things we know they will sail through.
Their dogs are amazing – they are always so well rounded, used to being loved and they do a lot of training with them too. Many of the ones coming are young and we are sure they will fly out into new homes. They’re such lucky dogs – travelling with the guys they know and trust – it will make the journey so much easier on them than usual the transport companies.
Here’s the pics of this morning when they were all packed and set off… They’ve said they’ll keep us posted. How exciting!
