Lola - Dogs 4 Rescue

Lola

More about Lola

Lovely Lola is vibrant, energetic and fun loving! She is a dinky girl and absolutely adorable.

This girl is sweet, lovable and playful. She would make a fantastic addition to the family.

Lola has spent some time on foster where she received the following glowing report:

‘Lola is a gem of a dog…a bit of a rough cut gem in need of some polishing and buffing, but a real gem all the same.

She has so much love to give and she’ll want to give it right from the moment she locks those gorgeous brown eyes onto you. When it comes to that polishing and buffing the good news is that she’s bright, food motivated and responsive to training.

The things that’ll need working on are her stress around other dogs and her reactivity to passing traffic. She can pull, but a very small amount of on-lead training has massively improved her walking. She’ll follow you around the house and there are signs she’s worried about being abandoned, but when she has been left for an hour or so she’s been found chilling on the sofa on return and there’s been no destructive behaviour.

Lola is a really gentle dog and, even though she loves her food, her manners around it are very good. Ignore her while you’re eating and she’ll stop bothering you and there’s been absolutely no sign of guarding her food. She loves her toys (another good sign for future training) and, while she wants you to join in, she’ll happily play with a ball on her own.

She seems to know at least a few basic cues like “sit” and “stay” and responds really well to a “no”.

When we remember Lola it’ll be with big smiles and we wouldn’t hesitate to have her back if needed. Hopefully it won’t be…this girl deserves some stability and somewhere out there is her future guardian…they just don’t know yet how lucky they are’.

Lola is a sensitive soul and finds the outside world a little overwhelming. We are currently working on her dog social skills and therefore we are looking for a pet free home.

Lola can be strong on the lead so would benefit from an experienced owner who can continue her training, she is bright and keen to learn. An active home would suit her best.

She could live with older, sensible children aged 12+

Adoption fee: £250

About our dogs

Our dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, flea & wormed and have full travel documents where appropriate. If they are arriving from overseas they will have had all the pre-travel tests as required by DEFRA and are transported through the TRACES system.

We pride ourselves on being honest and open about our dogs, sharing all we know about them including any known behaviour challenges or medical conditions.

Like all responsible rescues we offer Lifetime Rescue Back Up to all the dogs who come through our doors.

One month trial

We want our dogs to be happy in their homes for life, which is why we offer a full one month trial. As they start to relax and their personalities shine through you’ll know if your home life suits and how they get along with any other pets.

If it’s not the right fit, they can come back to rescue and get straight back to playing, and we will try to find you a more suitable match. There aren’t enough homes out there so please don’t give up if your first dog doesn’t work out.
