Bear - Dogs 4 Rescue

Bear

More about Bear

Bear is an incredibly loyal boy who forms strong bonds but it does take some time to earn his trust.
Bear’s loyalty means that he can be protective of his home and has displayed reactivity around strangers.
He will require careful introductions but as soon as Bear knows you are no threat he is the sweetest dog who will be so excited to greet you.

Bear will need an owner experienced with these behaviours. A quiet, adult only home would suit him best with a sensible person who can help him feel safe.
He lived happily in a home for the majority of his life and we would love to find him happiness again.

Bear loves to play with other dogs and could live with a compatible dog but he does not like cats.

Bear is currently spending some time on foster where his foster mum has said the following –

‘He chooses squeezy cheese over barking at most people on walks now. He’s pretty quiet in the house, he’s mostly stopped barking at noises outside and when he does bark I’ve taught him “quiet” and he stops. He’s clever, and he wants to please so he’s pretty easy to train.

He’s so affectionate, he’s a lovely boy. He’s an easy dog in the house and he’s good on walks as long as you give him space from strangers. He’s clean in the house too’

Adoption fee: £250

About our dogs

Our dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, flea & wormed and have full travel documents where appropriate. If they are arriving from overseas they will have had all the pre-travel tests as required by DEFRA and are transported through the TRACES system.

We pride ourselves on being honest and open about our dogs, sharing all we know about them including any known behaviour challenges or medical conditions.

Like all responsible rescues we offer Lifetime Rescue Back Up to all the dogs who come through our doors.

One month trial

We want our dogs to be happy in their homes for life, which is why we offer a full one month trial. As they start to relax and their personalities shine through you’ll know if your home life suits and how they get along with any other pets.

If it’s not the right fit, they can come back to rescue and get straight back to playing, and we will try to find you a more suitable match. There aren’t enough homes out there so please don’t give up if your first dog doesn’t work out.
